Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival day. A driver will pick you up and transfer you to our first night hotel. Aaron will lead a welcome slideshow to help you prep for the days to come where he concentrates on camera settings and techniques relevant to photographing hummingbirds for your adventure.
Day 2-4:
At our hummingbird photography lodge, you will have an unforgettable experience that combines stunning photography with a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Our itinerary includes three full days dedicated to hummingbird photography, during which you will have the chance to capture frame-filling headshots and brilliant flight shots of these flying jewels.
In addition to hands-on photography sessions, we will also have slideshow presentations where you can learn tips and techniques from our trip leaders. We believe that one-on-one teaching is key to helping you improve your photography skills, so we will be there to help you every step of the way.
Whether you prefer natural light or multi-flash photography, we have got you covered. Our lodge provides the perfect backdrop for capturing stunning images of hummingbirds and we will teach you the best techniques to make the most of this incredible opportunity.
But it’s not just about the photography – we also want you to have a great time. You’ll enjoy delicious gourmet food and plenty of laughter as we share stories and experiences. We believe that a positive and supportive environment is key to helping you take your photography to the next level, and we can’t wait to share this experience with you. Here is what a typical day looks like:
8:00 am: Start your day with a delicious group breakfast, fueling up for a morning of hummingbird photography.
9:00 am: First morning shift begins at our flash stations, where you can capture stunning photos of these winged wonders in natural light or with multi-flash photography techniques. Our experienced co-trip leaders, will be there to guide you and provide one-on-one teaching as needed.
10:30 am: Second morning shift begins, giving you even more opportunities to capture the perfect shot. Break/Download: Take a break and relax in the beautiful surroundings of our lodge, download and post process your stunning images, or continue to photograph the hummingbirds. We’ll also have slideshow presentations and other activities for you to participate in.
12:30 pm: Enjoy a delicious group lunch, where you can share your experiences with your fellow photographers.
2:00 pm: Afternoon shifts at the natural light and flash stations. Fill up those memory cards and try to capture that one in a million pose at the perfect flower.
7:00 pm: Dinner followed by relaxing evenings spent sharing laughs and discussing photography with your fellow tour participants. We may also have additional presentations or workshops during these times to help you improve your skills and get the most out of your experience.
Day 5: Departures, private transfers to the airport. Please inquire with us for airport information and specific arrival and departure times before booking flights.
