Join Johan a renowned Costa Rican naturalist and wildlife photographer, and Dan, an award-winning Canadian wildlife photographer and outdoor creative, for an unforgettable photographic adventure. Their combined expertise in spotting wildlife and capturing images will help you elevate your photography while experiencing Costa Rica’s extraordinary biodiversity.
Designed for photographers of all skill levels, this journey takes you into a land with over 930 species of birds, more than 200 species of mammals, 147 frogs, and 245 species of reptiles, where life thrives at every corner. You’ll photograph tropical species such as hummingbirds, toucans, Great Green Macaws, and the famed resplendent quetzal, as well as mammals and smaller critters like monkeys, sloths, red-eyed and poison dart frogs, and snakes. Opportunities to capture stunning landscapes will also be part of the experience.
We’ll provide professional flash equipment and instruction for creating beautiful macro images, particularly of frogs and snakes, and have selected the ideal locations and accommodations to showcase Costa Rica’s natural wonders.

Dan is a Canadian wildlife photographer and outdoor creative specialist with over 20 years of professional experience traveling the world to get the shot. His work has been featured in hundreds of publications worldwide, and his commercial client list includes brands such as Apple, Nike, Adobe, and Red Bull. Dan has also been a writer for DPReview and a contributor to Canon‘s online education platform. When he’s not photographing the Northern Lights behind his home in the Yukon, Dan divides his time between client work and sharing his photographic knowledge through his popular website, Shutter Muse.
